After a few weeks of fatigue and emotionality, Ethan visited the pediatrician who did a quick finger prick. The Hematocrit came back immediately and very low, and he was admitted that afternoon to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Within a couple of hours, Ethan was diagnosed with Leukemia, and two days later, he received a formal diagnosis of B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Chemotherapy was started immediately, and we are on a 3 1/2 year road to recovery. I hope this blog can serve as window to his  journey.

Alison – Thank you so much for sharing Ethan’s story so that we can all support you on this journey. From those of us in your past to your what looks to be fabulously supportive present, I am happy to be part of the village surrounding you and your family. May the road ahead be smooth and be filled with laughter and the wonderful craziness that goes with having three small kids!

I’ve been following your posts and saying prayers for you. What a lucky kid he is to have a family like yours — and especially a mom like you!
